A long while! Life's been pretty busy and not much time to devote to my friend or the board. We still see each other but not for the length of time as before. Usually just a 10-15 minute exchange of pleasantries and conversation of whatever point she brings up that day.
Anyway, she wanted to know what the Church teaches about the Kingdom of God, does the Church talk about the earth being destroyed/annihilated, what does the Church say about the end times, about the kingdoms here on earth. I told her that, for me, I don't over concern myself with the end of time in general, but rather with living my life according to His Will, in His Love. I think she was looking for something more, but these types of conversation, I think, require more than a minute or two, and I hated leaving her with nothing...so, I told her I'd look into it, any direction in addressing these questions with a Jehovah Witness would be appreciated!

I likewise haven't been around in awhile. As you can probably tell. I recently moved and have been working away from home for a good long while. The move brought me and the fam back together. We should of course start with paragraph 1042 of the CCC and go from there. This section has a couple of key scriptures that she will likely use and should be reviewed. The difference now between that material and her position is that the world will NOT be unmade. She's going to draw on the psalms and the concept that God's will (in this case the creation of the Earth) cannot be overcome. This is true, but she's confused over God's will. He willed us to be free and to be temporal as is the earth. It had a beginning, it changes (especially in the Fall) and all of this is the Will of God. Eventually it will end, for the Bible tells me so If you have questions after that section let me know.

You know when I was in the process of converting earlier this year, I wanted to know about that too. Its so emphasized as a Witness that you almost can't help yourself. What helped me let go, and perhaps what you could emphasize to her is how Jesus repeatedly says we would not know the day or the hour. Trying to figure it out is fruitless. This obsession with "the end" and how it could happen is unhealthy for faith and was never intended for us by God. You might also point out that the Church teaches that Revelation applies only to the early Christian era and does not have a modern fulfillment.
