Is anyone here familiar with Pioneer School and how it affects the average Jehovah Witness? My teenage children have completed the course within the last year or so. I was wondering how it might have affected their relationship with me, a Catholic. Of course they now spend more time "in service" after Pioneer school to get more hours in. But I don't seem to be able to spend much time with them anymore. It may simply be the late teenage years, with driving and having more friends like normal teens. It could just be my imagination too. When my JW wife went to Pioneer school back in the 90's, things seemed to go down hill from there for, our marriage. She would start to mention "divorce" now and then until eventually she left me for another man, who was a Jehovah Witness. So I guess my question is: Are JW's in Pioneer School more aggressively taught to limit contact with non-JW friends and even family... especially Catholics? And is this similar to Shunning? Up until about a year ago, I had them every other weekend for a day & a half... bringing them back for their meeting on Sundays. Now I am currently limited to spending a few hours with them on most Sunday afternoons. They rarely even reply to text messages I send and calls are very rare. It all seems like I'm being "phased-out" or something! Am I just imagining this?
